- This chapter lists known bugs and workarounds for SGImeeting
- SGItools Plugins at the time of release.

- 4.1 _K_n_o_w_n__B_u_g_s
-
-
- SGImeeting SGItools Plugins have the following known bugs:
-
-
-
- _V_i_d_e_o _c_a_p_t_u_r_e _o_n _t_h_e _D_I_V_O _a_n_d _E_V_1 _C_a_r_d_s
-
- Video capture does not work on an Onyx2 using a DIVO
- Digital Video Card or an Indy using a EV1 Digital Video
- Card. You will get an error message or a black screen
- if you try to use them. A workaround to this problem
- is to run the "_v_i_d_e_o_i_n" executable from the shell and
- use screen capture on top of the image. Note: The -z
- option changes the image size. For example to get
- quarter frame size, enter:
-
- vvvviiiiddddeeeeooooiiiinnnn ----zzzz 1111////4444
-

-
- Video capture on an Octane using a Personal Video Card
- does not work properly on IRIX 6.5.2 and 6.5.3. You
- must upgrade to IRIX 6.5.4 or greater. Also make sure
- your VideoPanel is set to camera as your default input.
-
-
- _S_t_r_e_a_m _p_r_e_e_m_p_t _m_e_s_s_a_g_e
-
- The video preview button is included in the video
- capture controls. It uses "_v_i_d_e_o_i_n" to run the
- previewer. Occasionally "_v_i_d_e_o_i_n" returns an error
- message to the console: "_v_i_d_e_o_i_n: _S_t_r_e_a_m _w_a_s _p_r_e_e_m_p_t_e_d
- _b_y _a_n_o_t_h_e_r _P_r_o_g_r_a_m". This error results in the
- previewer disappearing prematurely.
-
-
- _V_i_d_e_o _d_e_v_i_c_e _t_r_a_n_s_f_e_r _e_r_r_o_r_s
-
- If you have more than 2 live video captures running on
- a page, you may occasionally see the error message:
- "_v_i_d_e_o _d_e_v_i_c_e: _a_n _e_r_r_o_r _o_c_c_u_r_r_e_d _d_u_r_i_n_g _v_i_d_e_o
- _t_r_a_n_s_f_e_r." or the Stream preempt message. These errors

- occur when the video library becomes overloaded with
- requests. You may want to stop one of the video
- captures to avoid these errors and contention in the
- library.

-
- _W_h_i_t_e_b_o_a_r_d _r_e_d_r_a_w_s _s_l_o_w_l_y _o_n _O_n_y_x_2
-
- When an Onyx2 whiteboard receives live video captures
- during a conference, it redraws itself slower than
- expected.

-
- Due to a bug in the SGImeeting 1.0 and SunForum 1.0
- products, the screen and video plugins will only send
- the initial image, and will not update when the source
- image changes. This problem has been fixed in
- SGImeeting 1.1 or later and SunForum 2.0 or later. It
- is recommended that all conference participants using
- the 1.0 version of SGImeeting or SunForum upgrade to
- the later versions as soon as possible.

-
- When using the screen capture plugin to capture an area
- of the screen, you may occasionally see the screen
- capture controls appear in the wrong color. The colors
- will correct themselves the next time you move the
- mouse into the screen capture area.

- If you insert live screen and video images into more
- than one page of the whiteboard, you should be aware
- that only images in the page you are currently viewing
- will update. If a member of the conference is viewing a
- different page than the sender of the live images, they
- will not see updating images.
-
- When the receiver of the live images changes to the

- When sending large screen or video images to the
- whiteboard, the performance of the user interface may
- become poor. The workaround is to either increase the
- update delay time for the image, or decrease the size
- of the image.
